Whether you’re living with or after a cancer diagnosis, physical activity can help you make a positive change to your life. Walking is an easy, cheap way of getting active and can be a positive step towards increasing wellbeing whilst also being fun.
Research shows that increasing how much we walk can lead to associated health benefits as well as promoting mental wellbeing.
To promote the importance of physical activity and how it can help people affected by cancer with their recovery, Macmillan have set up a Walking Group. The walking group provides an opportunity for everyone affected by cancer to participate in and enjoy the outdoor environment.
The group meets on the first Friday of each month at 1pm at various places in the Bolton area all year round. All you need is a pair of comfortable walking shoes.
